DriveWorks

After a company restructure, I was transferred into the greenhouse design office where I would start my new role as a DriveWorks coder/designer. I was tasked with making a program to automate 80% of specification design, and creating a new design process for the design team to follow. Over a six month period, I learnt how to use and code DriveWorks and how to design an unknown product line.

I proposed a modelling process similar to the wire frame modelling, and startrighted coding the first version of the program. After three months of coding and testing, the first version was presented to the company, which was taken well, and was granted additional time for development.

After another six months and two developed versions, I had created a program that could create partially complete SolidWorks models and drawings through a series of inputs. Unfortunately, after a few months of updates and wider testing, we decided to follow a different route and use the existing production models to use in the specification drawings.
